Congratulations to Jersey's new government
This morning, with the final appointments made, Jersey's new Council of Ministers took office — and Senator Lyndon Farnham formally assumed his role as Chief Minister.
From all of us at Lobbi, congratulations to Senator Farnham and to every minister, assistant minister and member taking up a role in the new government. Readers will know we have asked hard questions over the past few weeks, and we will go on asking them — but today is a day to recognise that a real responsibility has been accepted by real people, and to wish those entrusted with it well. They now carry a great deal on behalf of all of us, and we genuinely hope they carry it well. Lobbi looks forward to following this government closely over the next four years. We were created to be a new voice for the public on the politics of Jersey — and, just as importantly, a place where Islanders can have their say. Whether you want to celebrate a decision that makes a real difference to your life, or raise a concern that isn't being heard elsewhere, this is your forum as much as ours. Scrutiny and support are not opposites. A government that delivers for Islanders will find us among the first to say so; one that falls short will find us asking why. Either way, we will be here — watching, listening, and giving the public a place to be heard. Here's to the next four years. — The Lobbi team
